My earliest memories of my only older sister is when she permed her hair once and had blonde tight curly shoulder length hair wearing her big 90s glasses. How beautiful she looked in her red with white polka dress for her highschool prom at SJA. I always wanted to be Katie I thought she was so cool. I would “borrow” her clothes and wear her makeup and perfume. Blue from the Gap was one of her favorites. Also Mollie and I hanging out with her in her room and laughing at silly things. I used to listen to her Alanis Morsette Jagged Little Pill cd all the time laying on her bed while she was at work. Also Gin Blossoms, and Goo Goo Dolls. She loved Romy and Michelle’s Highschool reunion, and City of Angels. I remember she had a Walking in the Clouds movie poster on her bedroom wall of Keenu Reeves. Just like my Mom I cried when she moved out. But was happy to have my own room finally! We had so much going out on weekends to the bars.. hanging out at her apartment. I was so proud of her accomplishments and loved what she stood for. After Juan and I started having kids she always checked on me to make sure I was doing alright. I miss talking to her. I wish we had more time. I’m happy we went to see Rachel Bloom last year before covid. I’m happy we saw Robyn at The Rave a couple years ago. We had so much fun. She was such a good Auntie to my kids and an incredible sister. I can feel her around me, she’s always on my mind. I know she’s with my Mom and our Grandparents and Aunt Lor loving every moment of it. Dancing in the clouds watching us from up above. I’ll be a better person because I was blessed to have her as a sister. I love you Katie.
