As a new neighbor, I have sadly had few moments face to face with Nancy. We had a few exchanges at the elevator when she accepted my offer to deliver her newspapers as I picked up my own.

We have gotten to know each other through handwritten notes we would exchange on the chair outside her unit. Her first note was on stationery of her own making. It was beautiful. Several notes later, she taped a pen on the notepaper so I could respond without having to make an extra trip from my unit.

We were trying to find a time to sit down and get to know each other. It is my great regret that we will not. Thank you to her friends and family for sharing such great stories during the virtual memorial. I feel now that I know Nancy a little bit and add my voice to those who will miss her.
