“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them”( Revelation 14:13).
Mom (Darla McLean), a Mother, Mentor, Model, Counselor, Friend, Teacher, Consoler, Lover of people, a Jewel of inestimable value!
Your sudden exit is shocking to me, very painful and heartbreaking. You called me in May 26, 2020, we spoke at length and your last words were “Michael, we love you and your family and are praying for you”. Little did I know that that would be our last conversation!
Mom, you have touched me and countless many. Your show of Love was not bound by colour, clime or creed; this explains why everybody in Nigeria where you served as a Missionary for 23 years is expressing differently.
Indeed, I lack words to describe your impact in my personal life, family and ministry since 1997 till date.
Your monumental contributions to my life, family, ministry and to the growth and progress of First United Pentecostal Church Nigeria, speaks volumes. In fact, your ministry is still ongoing!
As your children, we will ensure to do the things which we have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in you and we will remain steadfast till the end.
I must confess that your home call has created a vacuum on my heart; nevertheless I submit to God’s will, for His ways are not our ways neither His thoughts our thoughts. My consolation therefore is that you are now in a better place to rest with the Lord, where we hope to meet someday.
Above all, I sincerely give thanks to God who gave you to us and who also have received you back to Himself today.
Oh Mom, we will miss you. Live on!
