It was an honor to have a telephone relationship with Aunt Arylene (my grandfather’s brother’s wife) for 16 years. She provided my dad, her nephew with great support during his difficult time as a caregiver for my step mother, who needed total care, for 10 years. Her experience and knowledge as a caregiver benefitted both of us. She helped me with support, information and a keen knowledge of the world of Special Needs allowing me to be a better advocate for my autistic son. She was highly intelligent, a fierce advocate, with a huge heart and a desire to help her children as well as others. I am blessed to have known her though only over the phone, her wisdom is with me only. Fly with angels, Aunt Arylene and give my Dad and grandparents hugs.
What a superstar she was! Interested in everything, generous to everyone and a giver of hope to so many by means of her encouragement. Thank you forever, Arylene.
For me one of the very special things about Arylene was her ability to bring a smile to the faces of people she met. To be remembered with a smile is to me the ultimate tribute to a life well lived. Arylene, dear friend and relative, your memory will bring a smile to my face as long as I live.
