Terry L. Stetzenbach, 68, passed away after an illness on Friday, November 8, 2024.
She was born May 22, 1956 in Butler, WI, daughter of Myron “Mike” and Eldene (Leissring) Kehoss. Terry graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Parkside and received her Masters Degree from Marquette University. After graduating, she worked for many years in corporate training, where she met her husband. Terry and John P. Stetzenbach were united in marriage at St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield on August 13, 1982. Terry spent most of her years caring for her two children and was also a published writer. Terry later became a beloved professor at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Wauwatosa and an integral part of their theater program. Terry enjoyed music, live theater and traveling with her family, especially to Disney World.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Waukesha where she was an active member of the choir.
Terry is survived by her husband of 42 years, John; two children, John M. (Megan) Stetzenbach of Pewaukee and Katherine (Michael) Gordon of Hartland; and four grandsons, Matthew and Luke Stetzenbach and Samuel and Maxwell Gordon. She is further survived by sister-in-law Mary (Mark) Kloeffler. Also survived by many loved family members, friends, neighbors and students.
The family would like to thank the medical teams at ProHealth Care led by Dr O’Neill, at Aurora St. Luke’s led by Dr. Sulemange and at Froedtert led by Dr. Thompson who supported Terry with her health issues over the last 35 years.
Terry’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha appreciated.
Terry will be missed by all who knew her. She has been a fighter her whole life and handled life’s challenges with grace and is a great example for all of us to aspire to. She is most definitely in a better place now and watching over John, her kids and grandchildren. What a great guardian angel she will be
Dave and I send our deepest sympathy to you, John, and your family. We will always remember Terry’s smile and laugh that we so enjoyed at all of the WISCO high school baseball games and during the summer traveling games. Great memories. She was such an inspiration. May God give you peace and strength during this time and in the future knowing she is now in a better place.
Terry was such a sweet, nice lady. I talked to her every time there was a Kloeffler outing. She had the best gift ideas and it was always a pleasure any time we got to see her. Sending our deepest condolences to John and the family.
Terry was a member of our family! Always upbeat and positive. She raised two incredible kids and I know that she and John were extremely proud of them. She leaves the, behind as her legacy as well as her grandchildren. Time to rest now, Terry. Your fight is finally over. God bless John and the family. Jan and Terry Kloeffler
