Agatha Braun passed away on October 9, 2021 at the milestone age of 100 years. She was born in Napoleon, North Dakota on December 4, 1920 to parents Valentine and Veronica (nee Haegele) Jacob, who emigrated there in 1907. Aggie grew up in a wonderful farming family as the fourth-eldest of nine children. After World War II, she moved to Milwaukee (followed by sisters Katie and Frances), where Aggie married Raymond J. Braun on October 25, 1952. Aggie and Ray enjoyed a happy life, enriched by a close-knit family and many friends. Aggie always laughed at Ray’s jokes, no matter how corny. A good game of sheepshead and Aggie’s famous cheesecake were often the highlights of Braun/Bachman/Holdorf family gatherings. The couple retired to Silver Springs Lake near Neshkoro, WI, where they enjoyed living the “lake life,” which included much fishing. Ray died too early in 1983. Aggie is survived by sons Raymond (Rondi) and Anthony (Sue Lappen); 7 grandchildren; Rachel (Kyle Rauch), Ramie, Maggie (Steve Raab), Beckie, Libbie (Josh Lynch), Lauren and Emily; and 4 great grandchildren; Magnolia, Corrina, Oscar and Benjamin. Aggie is further survived by her “baby sister,” Lugard Leier of Braddock, ND, along with 50+ nieces and nephews, more family, and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in New Berlin on Saturday, October 16 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will precede Mass at the church, beginning at 12:30 pm. For those interested, Aggie’s funeral service will be live streamed: Click Here to view

The family thanks VITAS hospice for the great care provided to Aggie during her last days, and the friends and family members who comforted her with their visits during that time.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Holy Apostles Church or VITAS.
