Allen H.
Palmersheim
Of the Town of Raymond. Allen was born to Eternal Life, surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 90 years of age. Allen was born to Albert and Frieda (nee Hartman) Palmersheim in New Berlin, Wisconsin on November 25, 1926. He was the beloved husband of the late Luverne (nee Pauers), together for 67 years. He is the loving father to Janice (the late Richard) Vollmer, Marilyn (Lawrence) Beier, David (Rose) Palmersheim, Diane (Gerald) Brunner and Karen (Rand Jardanowski) Palmersheim. Allen is also the proud grandfather of Eugene Haig and Matthew (Paula) Haig, and James, Dennis (Danielle), Cheryl, Jennifer, and Joseph Vollmer. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his canine companion, Tash.
Allen was a longtime resident of the Town of Raymond, where he and his family worked on their poultry and vegetable farm, selling their produce at the West Allis Farmer’s Market for more than a half-century.
Allen was a quiet man and a modest man. But he was also a cerebral man, and given the opportunity, he could hold his own when it came to conversations about sports, business, and politics. Allen was a self-starter and do-it-yourselfer, and a perfectionist in everything he did. He had a very creative mind, figuring out how to make something out of nothing—whatever it took to get the job done. Allen also had a love for animals and for music, having played in a polka band during his earlier years. His musical talents included transposing music, writing every note out by hand, thus allowing his five children to play songs with various instruments. His talents and interests, passed down to his children, will forever be cherished. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 4-7 pm, and continued on Thursday from 10-11am at WHITNALL PARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5847 Lilac Lane in Hales Corners, followed by funeral service at 11am. Interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
