Found peace on September 15th, 2019 at the age of 55.  Loving husband of Rhonda (nee Donatell).  Proud dad of Keegan and Mitchell.  Son of the late Russell Brihn and Dorothy Johnson.  Brother of Robert (Sharon) Brihn, Bonnie Rowe, Kathy Brihn, Mary (Jim) Koss, Lisa Brihn (Matt).  Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at Hales Corners Lutheran Church (12300 W. Janesville Rd.) on Thursday, September 19th, from 4-5pm followed by at funeral service at 5pm.

Allen’s first love was flying.  As a licensed private pilot for over 30 years he shared his passion with friends and family whether taking them for a ride or just buzzing their house to let them know he was there.  It’s no wonder that he met his wife of 19 years at the East Troy airport where she was taking flying lessons.  The two married Sept. 2, 2000 and enjoyed traveling throughout the US, Canada, Germany, Italy and others.  When the boys joined their family, Al made a point to take them to the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh every year.  There they camped as a family with Uncle Jim and other friends they made over the years.  The boys plan to continue this tradition in their dads’ honor.

Al loved to tell stories about his adventures and was never at a loss for words.  Anyone that knew him, was aware of his quirky sense of humor that will not easily be forgotten; he was happiest dressing up in crazy outfits to make you laugh through a tough situation, or just getting a rise out of his kids, nieces and nephews with the crazy nick names he had for each of them.

In his spare time, you could find Al out at his hanger in East Troy tinkering on something.  His Mooney airplane, his boys and their basset hound all there with him.  Al was handy with a lot of different projects at home and on the job.  As owner and operator of his own business, he traveled the world, many times to third world counties, where he was sought after as one of the few mechanical field service technicians skilled to work on labeling machines for the food and beverage industry.

I am saddened to hear this news. To think that a simple lunch we missed and failed to reschedule last winter would be the last time I talked to him is surreal. He was a good man and will be missed. God bless you all, Rhonda.

Rhonda and Family, though we never met you, Charlie Moelter certainly knew Allen and I had met him too, many years ago. Charlie is still stunned over the news. He regrets that he cannot offer his condolences in person. Another pilot has “gone West”. Sincere regards. Charlie Moelter and Joanne Gasperik
