Andrew Lane Gartmann

Born to Eternal Life August 24, 2024, age 56 years.  Beloved son of the late Melvin and the late Mina Gartmann.  Cherished brother of the late Anthony (Kathy) Gartmann, Kathleen (Jeff) Taylor, Cynthia (Tom) Novak, Sheryl Gartmann, Laurie (Bruce) Buchholz, and Allen (Milene) Gartmann.

He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends – he will be especially missed by his Racine Comfort Care “family.”

Andy loved hanging out with friends and was always ready with a joke – he couldn’t wait to call his entire family and share the latest new joke he heard.  He always looked forward to the summer festivals and couldn’t wait to get a cream puff at the Wisconsin State Fair each year.

Andy truly has a passion for music and was especially fond of polka music – it was a big part of his family life while growing up. His father, several of his aunts and uncles, and even some friends would play together at family gatherings.

Because of his love for polka, it’s not surprising that Andy’s instrument of choice was the accordion, which he began playing around the age of 10. He would play for anyone who would listen and would often take his accordion to area nursing homes to share his favorite polkas with the residents.  Later in life he also learned to play the keyboard and enjoyed playing the melodica and singing as well. He was a member of his church choir for many years.

Andy possessed a kind and forgiving spirit and was always ready to call you a friend.  He will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th Street in Oak Creek on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service of Remembrance at 12:00 PM.

Private entombment, St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Andy will truly be missed by all that knew him. Andy always enjoyed being with others and sharing everyday situations that he encountered. I have a lot of memories of Andy as a cousin and spending a lot of time with him and his brothers and sisters when they lived in south Milwaukee. May you rest in peace Andy you will definitely be missed.
