Strommen, Ardith LaVerne
Ardith passed away to be with her Lord on November 3, 2015 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother of Andrea (Ted) Furlong, David Strommen and Daniel (Beth) Strommen. Dear grandmother of Alissa Strommen, Linnaea and Gavin Furlong, Katie (Matthew) Augustine, and Lauren, Greg and Matthew Strommen. Great-grandmother of Elizabeth Joy Augustine.

Ardith, “Ardee”, was born in Milwaukee, the only child of Alma and George Johnson. She grew up in Bay View and graduated in 1945 from Bay View High. In 1949 she graduated from Milwaukee Downer College with a degree in occupational therapy. She married Robert Strommen in 1951 and they were married for 63 happy years until his passing last year. They lived in Greenfield for 50 years before moving to Steepleview Christian Community where Ardith enjoyed her many friends and activities there. Ardee was very involved in her children’s lives at school and leading Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Ardith was a very active lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway Lodge. Ardee was always ready to help anyone in any way she could. She enjoyed gardening, baking, camping and quilting. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Visitation will be at OUR SAVIOR’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3022 W. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee 53208 from 9AM-11AM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 with a Funeral Service at 11AM. Private Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. If so desired, memorials to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church appreciated.
