Arelene Evelyn Reed

Arelene Evelyn Reed passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 at the age of 89.

Arelene was born Arelene Evelyn Leair on February 15, 1935 to Wm. Albert Leair and Elsie (Visser) Leair. She grew up with 15 siblings in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland “Ron” Reed, her son David Reed (Luann) and a very special friend James Waldenberger. She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Kevin) Coats and Brenda Heim; grandchildren Stephanie Harshburger, Kevin Jezak, and Michelle Johnson; as well as great-grandchildren including Nicollette Olomi and Wyatt Johnson.

Arelene enjoyed sewing and crafts, baking, bird watching, and gardening. In her earlier years she was a member of the New Berlin Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary and Color Guard. She was a member of New Berlin Senior Citizens and the New Berlin Historical Society.

A memorial visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home – New Berlin (16880 W. National Ave.) on Saturday, Nov. 30th, from 1-3pm followed by at memorial service at 3pm.
