Arnold (Arnie) M.
Campbell

Of New Berlin, WI

Born to Eternal Life on April 2, 2020, after a sudden and brief illness. Arnie was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised in Greendale, WI and a resident of New Berlin, WI since 1966. As a devoted Catholic, he shared his faith in God & worked tirelessly to show love for his family, neighbors, fellow parishioners and former students. He was a loving, loyal husband of Terese for over 60 years and a caring, giving father to Christopher (Cynthia Day) Campbell, Kathryn (David) Kaiser, Colleen Davidson and Keith (Michele) Campbell. Arnie was especially proud of his grandchildren, Connor (fiancée Nicole Dart) Davidson, Adam Campbell, Claire Kaiser, McKenzie Davidson and Ryan Campbell. Nieces and nephews include Patrick and Tim Campbell, Scott and Brett Campbell, Chuck Schroedl, Lisa Narewski and Michael Schroedl. Further survived by Terese’s sister, Mary Beth and caring husband, Bernie Schroedl and former sister-in-law Gail Rajchel. Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Campbell Sr., and Eileen (Wiig) Campbell and his siblings, Jim and Joseph Campbell and Eileen Stevenson. Arnie’s parents were pioneer residents of the Village of Greendale community, founded in 1938.

Arnie enjoyed several careers, but was most known as an engaging and dynamin math and science teacher for both Greendale and Wauwatosa public schools for over 33 years. He was also a successful Realtor for multiple agencies for over 20 years. In younger days, Arnie was a respected and talented baseball pitcher for UW-Madison, Falk Corp. and other local semi-professional baseball teams. He earned his membership into the local Old-Time Ballplayers’ Association Hall of Fame. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, volunteering and coaching baseball. Arnie was proud to have safely deer-hunted with his son Chris until 2015. Family times at holidays often included Dad’s “special prayers” which always reflected on the depth of his faith, love, care, concern and advocacy for all. He frequently took joy in sharing clean jokes, and puns with family, friends, and even total strangers! Arnie was truly proud of his family and their many successes and accomplishments in life.

Due to the current COVID-19 safety precautions, a Memorial Mass and celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Holy Apostles Catholic Parish in New Berlin. The family is extremely thankful for the high quality care the was provided for Arnie/Dad by the skilled physicians and staff at Aurora/St. Luke’s Hospital, especially during his recent medical crisis. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pro-Life Wisconsin and/or Hebron Housing Services (assisting the homeless in Waukesha).  www.ProLifeWI.org or www.hebronhouse.org .

Arnie was a great guy. I still live in the house he helped me design and have built 30 years ago. Being a fellow hunter we exchanged many grouse hunting stories!
    My sincerest condolences.

Dad, you were such a great role model, coach, mentor & friend. You led a really full & mostly happy life. We were so happy to celebrate your 60th anniversary with Mom at Holy Apostles at the end of 2019. You told funny stories & did so with a fun, wise-guy tone. You were often so very smart, a great teacher, realtor, mentor& coach & such a good problem-solver, too. We will carry forth some of your traditions & will always honor & respect YOU & your memory. Please save a seat in heaven for the rest of us, your family members & the family doggies, too. Love you today & always & God bless you, Dad! XOXO, Kip
