Wanta, Arthur A.
Age 89, died Saturday, April 16 at the Clement J. Zablocki V. A. Medical Center in Milwaukee of natural causes. Wanta was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia nee Jozwiak and is survived by nine children: Robert, Barbara Wanta Kugi Allen, Gerald Darlene, Patricia Wanta Jansky John, Ronald Wendy, Lawrence Gail, Nancy, Richard and David Janet. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Arthur was an Army veteran of WWII, where he earned several service medals. He served in Iceland, Normandy, France and Germany with the 90-MM Anti-Aircraft Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post 416. He grew up in Stevens Point, WI., one of six children of Peter and Anna nee Firkus Wanta. After the war, he worked at and retired from Schlitz Brewery in Milwaukee. Services will be held Monay, April 25, at 10:00 AM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Heart Association, appreciated.
