Aurora Gloria (nee Moravec), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born on March 1, 1931, and was called home to heaven on January 7, 2020. She was born in Cudahy, WI, the daughter of John and Anna (nee Toth) Moravec.
Aurora became a child of God through Holy Baptism on March 15, 1931; and she was confirmed in the Christian faith on May 20, 1945.
Aurora (Zora) married Richard Lueneburg on October 6, 1956, and they were devoted to the Lord and each other for more than sixty-three years. They were blessed with two sons, Kurt (Susan nee Roland) and Joel (Joan nee Dietrich). As the family grew, they were blessed with five grandchildren, whom she cherished: Angela (Andrew) Parrish, Justin Lueneburg, Allyson (Joe) Sellwood, Ellen (John) Raasch, and Elise Lueneburg. They were also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Tessa and Roman Parrish; John, Jr. and Roland Raasch; and Whitford and Aurora Sellwood. Lord-willing, their eighth grandchild (Raasch family) will be born in April.
Zora was a gifted vocalist, pianist, organist, and choir director. She used those gifts to serve Jesus by accompanying God’s people and singing solos in worship, and directing choirs at Zion Lutheran Church, South Milwaukee, WI, and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oak Creek, WI, for many years. In addition, she taught scores of young people to play the piano; at one time, teaching more than fifty students each week. She loved to cook, read, play games, complete puzzles, listen to music, and entertain. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cudahy, WI, until marriage, when she joined her husband as a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Zora is survived by sisters-in-law: Arlene Bernthal and Joan Radke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: John (Ludmilla), Rudolph (Ann), Milan (Anne), and Joseph (Lorna) Moravec; sisters: Darina (Fritz) Rasmussen, Emelia (Steve) Osicka, Ann (Clayton) LaPerriere; brother-in-law: Martin Bernthal; other relatives and friends.
Zora’s Christian funeral will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 900 Michigan Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI, at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2020. A time of visiting and sharing support will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Zion Lutheran Church’s Building Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.
Our deepest sympathy to Dick and family. Zora was a fantastic woman, a fabulous organist and a great choir director. When I asked her to play the organ for my mother’s funeral, 19 years ago, she did not hesitate to fulfill my request. That is just the type of person she was. She will be greatly missed I’m sure. Always enjoyed running into her and loved her great smile and cheerfulness. My husband would run into them as he was at one time their garbage man and later, their street sweeper.
Again my deepest sympathy.

Dear Joel, Joan and the Lueneburg family,
Ray and I want to extend our deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. I don’t recall ever meeting her (Joel looks so much like her), but I did talk to her on the phone when she answered some tax questions I had. I agree with everyone’s assessment, she was truly a kind and wonderful woman! You are in our thoughts and prayers.
In sympathy,
