Nee Mosier Age 89 years, died at home, Sunday, October 10, 2010, after a year-long battle with COPD. Barbara was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on May 12, 1921, to Hal H. and Bessie A. Seydel Mosier. Barbara attended the University of Iowa and Iowa State Teachers College, leaving school to help work in the war effort. On June 18, 1944, Barbara married the love of her life, Dr. Warren C. Bogle, Sr., who predeceased her this past July 28, 2010. They had recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Born to their loving union were four children, all of whom survive: Warren C. Bogle, Jr., Oak Creek, Wisconsin; Linda A. Christians, Lawrenceburg, Indiana; Jeane L. Bogle, Waukesha, Wisconsin; and Susan E. Smith, Grand Junction, Colorado. Barbara was an adored and adoring grandmother to Shannon and Heather Bogle, Madison, Wisconsin; Bradley Elizabeth Christians, Fountain, Michigan; Jennifer Dr. Doug Ruter, Lawrenceburg, Indiana; Ryan Shelley Christians, Raleigh, North Carolina; Andrew Christians, Detroit, Michigan; and Sean and China Smith, Grand Junction, Colorado. Barbara loved the time she was able to spend with her three great grandchildren, Luke, Zachary and Benjamin Ruter, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, who also adored her. Barbara’s brother, Craig H. Mosier, and sister, Betty Mosier, predeceased her. Her sister, Bonnybel Dean Harris, survives, along with cousins, nieces and nephews. Barbara had many passions in life, the first being her family. Everyone who met her was struck by her beauty, both outside and in. She had tremendous spirit and a zest for life but with a gentle and loving soul. As a parent she participated in Brownies, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts with her children. She was Junior Golf Chairperson for two years at Blackhawk Country Club, Madison, Wisconsin, golf being her second passion. Barbara was a member of not only Blackhawk Country Club but, after a move to Waukesha County, Wisconsin, became a member of Tumblebrook and Tuckaway Country Clubs. She also played and was a member of Nagawaukee, Kettle Moraine and Oakwood womens’ golf leagues. Barbara celebrated a hole-in-one at Monroe Country Club, Monroe, Wisconsin when she was 44 years old and she enjoyed playing golf until she was 85 years old, winning many tournaments in her golf flight. While living in Madison, Barbara was a member of the Medical Auxiliary, where she was Membership Chairperson for two years and chaired various committees. Barbara enjoyed working part time at Gimbels in Madison and in Milwaukee after her children became teenagers and, after she retired, treasured her monthly luncheons keeping in touch with the Gimbels “girls”. Barbara and Warren spent time after the children were grown traveling in the British Isles, Spain, Europe and Russia. They especially enjoyed their annual winter trips to the Bahamas. Barbara also spent Tuesday mornings and some Sunday afternoons and evenings, while she was able, playing Bingo, her third passion, at the Elks Club in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the American Legion in Greendale, Wisconsin. A private memorial service will be held for Barbara and she will be buried next to Warren, Sr. Barbara was a cherished person to many during her lifetime and she will be greatly missed by family and friends.
