Bernard “Ben” Wielgus
Called home to heaven at the age of 87 on June 8th 2017 while in the loving arms of his wife Madelyn (Nee Dettmann) of 62 years. Loving father of Sharon (Michael) O’Gallagher and Randy Wielgus. Proud grandfather of Eric and Travis O’Gallagher and great-grandfather of Romona Spehert-O’Gallagher. Ben was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time at his cottage in the northwoods with his family and at home in his garden. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. He was recently awarded for his 50 years of service with the Steamfitters Union 601. Ben is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. The youngest of 12 children, he is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Private Services were held.
