Bonnie Coleen Dudley
(nee Knight)

Of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, passed peacefully and loved to eternal life on August 3, 2024 at age 81.

Bonnie was a natural competitor.  She relished winning. Whether it was a board game such as Ticket to Ride or a card game, with Sheepshead being one of her favorites. Bonnie was athletic in younger years and won dozens of trophies, trouncing many a worthy opponent on the tennis court.

She loved to sing and listen to music, as well as going to concerts. She liked everything from the 1950’s crooners to current musicals, but she was especially fond of Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond.  She would always sing along to her favorites – especially if she was enjoying a Brandy Old Fashioned – sweet, of course.

Bonnie also loved, loved, loved, anything chocolate and even kept a gallon of chocolate syrup in her refrigerator in case something wasn’t chocolate-y enough.

Bonnie and Gerald met and fell in love in Milwaukee.  When the Army sent Gerald to France, it was from there he proposed to Bonnie.  Bonnie booked passage on a ship, and they were married in France.  This trip sparked a love of travel in Bonnie that lasted a lifetime – whether it was by car, bus, train, plane or boat – she traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe over the years.

Bonnie loved finding fabulous shopping deals and enjoyed a good haggle at rummage sales.

Bonnie was deeply loved by her family.  She is survived by her daughter Renee Dudley and son Craig (Laurie) Dudley, as well as her four-legged “children and grandchildren” Aria, Henry, Timmy, Bella, and Bear, along with many loving family members and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Gerald Dudley (in 2005) and partner of over 6 years Franz Beck (in 2016).

Bonnie’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Luke’s – especially the Nuro ICU, as well as everyone at Zilber Hospice for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th Street in Oak Creek. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM.

Sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother, Renee and Craig. I have the fondest memories of both your parents. Your mom, especially, was always so strong, smart and fun to be around. Very accepting of everyone and always full of kindness and grace. God bless her.

Bonnie and I were members of the Widows and Widowers club together. We spent many many hours playing cards and dominoes. My best memory is when Bonnie and I took a trip together to Memphis to tour everything Elvis. We had a wonderful time and made many great memories. Renee and Craig I am sorry for your loss. She sure loved those dogs Renee, I am sure they will miss her also.

Bonnie will be miss by many of her red hat sisters. I personally enjoyed her many stories she shared at our lunch bunch events. RIP my friend.

My husband and I have many fond memories of playing Sheepshead with Bonnie on Wednesday afternoons. Everyone has been asking about her and we’re very saddened to know she has passed. To her family, know Bonnie was very well liked and we all enjoyed playing cards with her. She always left early though “to let the dogs out.” She will be greatly missed.
