In Loving Memory of

Bonnie Lynn Literski  (nee Tews)

Born on June 4, 1948, in Brookfield, Bonnie Lynn Literski (nees Tews) passed away on February 2, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of attorney Paul D. Literski and a loving mother to David Sean Jendlin, the son of her former husband, Peter T. Jendlin.

Bonnie was the dear daughter of Harold and Erika Tews, the beloved sister of Douglas P. Tews (Erica), sister-in-law to Margaret (Steve) Haag, Ann (Daryl) Kooping, Lauren (Greg) Schmidt, and brother-in law Eugene (Susan) Literski . Born and raised in Brookfield, she attended Brookfield Central High School, where she was honored as the “Best Dressed.” Subsequently, Bonnie pursued higher education at the University of Oshkosh, where she met Peter Jendlin and welcomed their son, David Sean Jendlin.

Following her time at UW Oshkosh, Bonnie explored various career paths, including working as a flight attendant and hairstylist. In 1976, she met Paul Literski, and they were married in 1978. Their shared interests in boating, skiing, and travel, along with cherished moments with family and friends, defined their happy marriage.

In later years, Bonnie returned to her educational pursuits, earning a degree in art education from UW Milwaukee in May 2000. She dedicated herself to teaching in the Waukesha school system before savoring her retirement years in the home she and Paul built in Eagle. Gardening and painting brought her immense joy, and she maintained her reputation as the “best dressed” at every gathering. Bonnie’s famous German potato salad was a staple at family events, a testament to her cultural upbringing.

Throughout her life, Bonnie was an avid dog lover, sharing her heart with beloved pets such as Opie, Petie, Jager, Spike, Chien, Goober, Normal, Noire, Tennie, Huntz 1, Baron, and Frodo.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will take place on Sunday, April 21 from 2pm-4pm, with a memorial service and fellowship at 4pm at the Knights of Columbus, 732 Badger Ave, South Milwaukee, WI 53172.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bonnie’s name may be made to the family.

May her vibrant spirit and enduring love be remembered by all who knew her.
