Brian passed unexpectedly July 2, 2021 at the age of 59.

Loving father of Alexander (Kalie) and Samuel. Preceded in death by his beloved parents Stuart and Mary Schmidt. Brian will be missed by siblings Sandy (Craig) Johnston, Jeff (Pat), Karin (Frank) Nowak and his fur grand-baby Rudder. Extended family, many friends and colleagues also cherish his memory.  Preceded in death by his parents and brother Kurt.

Brian’s family and friends knew him as a great father who was energetic, full of life and above all things dependable. He was the epitome of a hard worker who was a true success story that started from the bottom and rose to the top. Brian was a proud Air Force veteran and long time Federal Aviation Administration employee.

Brian lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed quiet moments gardening, reflecting by his pond full of frogs and fish or relaxing with a favorite microbrew but could also be found taking part in extreme activities like tubing, boating and setting off fireworks. Brian was passionate about the outdoors and could often be found biking on or off the roads and around Silver Lake. The only thing louder than his music was his mouth which he used to share countless stories. Throughout Brian’s life he kept a positive outlook even at the most difficult of times. He leaves a space in our lives that could never be filled but his legacy lives on through his adoring sons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Brian’s birthday, July 24th, 2021. Friends and family are invited to visit from 10-1pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (9200 S 27th Street, Oak Creek) with a Time of Remembrance to begin at 1pm.

Memorials are appreciated to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Brian too well but I liked him anyway. I know he was a huge part of Alex and Sam and always will be with them in spirit. I’ll be with you in my thoughts and prayers as you say goodbye. Love you boys.
