Carroll “Lee” Guse

Lee passed away peacefully at the age of 81, surrounded by family on March 14, 2018. He was the loving husband of Joan M. Guse (nee Steingraeber) of 54 years; adored father of Jill (Steve) Smith, Karen (John) Drexler, and Sandra (Richard) Van Zeeland. Brother of Beverly (the late Jack) Walkowiak and Pearl Hauser. Special uncle to Jeffery Walkowiak. Cherished great-uncle to Sarah and Katelyn. He was preceded in death by brothers Clifford and David Guse and sister Faye Krause. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lee was a retired employee of Cooper Industries where he worked in the engineering field for over 30 years. He loved listening and playing music, especially jazz, which was a big part of his younger years. He enjoyed reading about all kinds of topics and had a passion for learning about how things worked. He served in the army and his athletic prowess earned him a position on the baseball team, for which he was proud. Above everything, he cherished spending quality time with his family on annual trips up north, watching movies, and going out to dinner–always excited to try new foods. He had a feisty sense of humor and ineffable wit that will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on March 23 from 3PM-5PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 5PM.
