Charles “Chuck” F. Pankonen
Of Franklin, WI- Joined his beloved granddaughter Emma in Heaven on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at age 80. Charles was born on September 14, 1941 to Charles J. and Dolores (nee Schwichtenberg) Pankonen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and Don Bosco Catholic High School.
After high school he became an electrician. He worked for Roman Electric nearly his entire career. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 60 years.
He loved to take his family boating, camping and on annual road trips each summer. He enjoyed going out to dinners, going to festivals and grilling out with the family. One of his favorite things to do was to spoil his grandchildren. He treated them to years of Sesame Street Live, sporting events, concerts and limo rides. He loved hosting them at his condo in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Loving father of Karen (Keith) Grupe, Beth Pankonen-Mortl, Julie Pankonen-Lorenz, Donna (Scott) Goelz, and Angie (Joe) Dreher. Cherished grandfather of John, Nick, Rachel, Eric, Clayton, Emma, Danielle, Nicole, Courtney, and Simon. Great-grandfather of Jon. Brother of Shari Aney, Frank (Karen) Pankonen, and Barb (Norm) Scharp. Further survived by his special friend, Sandra Pankonen, and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emma Lorenz, his brother Frank Pankonen and his parents, Charles J. and Dolores Pankonen.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 9:30am until the time of service at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (3100 S 41st St, Milwaukee). Entombment at Arlington Park Cemetery to follow.
