We are so grateful for getting to know Charles, Lynda, Don, Christine, and those who worked with him. His kindness and graciousness to our family in a time of need will never be forgotten.. The prayer list we participated in was always a welcome addition to our devotional times as we prayed for those in need. (Especially Charles in these last days as he battled multiple ailments. Our prayers will continue for the family, friends, and fellow church members who were close to him through the grieving process. He was a unique/special person with a generous and grateful heart. We our thankful for his ministry and life.

I first met Charles back in the fall of 1987 at Chicago Health and Fitness. Through a mutual friend we were introduced on the gym floor. All three of us would workout together but eventually our mutual friend more or less quit so Charles and I kept on training together. Charles was always such a generous man along with his wife Cody. Every Friday night Charles and Cody would take my wife Shelley and me out for dinner to the Nightingale restaurant. This was such a blessing for my wife and me as I was a poor student attending Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield Illinois. Our training and friendship continued for the 2 1/2 years I attended school. After I graduated we returned to Toronto. We continued to keep in contact and visited Charles and Cody a few times over the years, It gave us so much joy to see Charles grow in his walk with the Lord. I remember him once saying that he was working so hard for the Lord so that he would receive a really big crown. And that when he would throw it at the feet of Jesus it would make such a loud sound that everyone would look. That was Charles for you. He had such a good heart and a great sense of humor. He will be missed but he is in such a better place now. One day we will be together again.
