Cheryl Lynn Lentz, 65 Muskego, died Thursday, February 2, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Memorial Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church (S66W14325 W. Janesville Rd. Muskego, WI) on Friday, February 10, from 11 AM – 1 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 PM.

Cheryl Lynn Lentz was born October 3, 1957 to Warren and Mardell Osborn.  Cheryl was born and raised in Muskego alongside her loving siblings Jewell, Marlene, Warren, Louie, and Mary.  In high school she met the love of her life Peter John Lentz.  On September 11, 1976, they promised to remain true to each other as husband and wife and were married here at St. Paul’s.

The Lord blessed them with forty-six years of marriage.  Peter went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 17, 2022.

Cheryl’s greatest love was her family.  Cheryl and Peter had two sons Carl (Christine) and Travis (Tami). Her 9 grandchildren Carter (Kendall), Parker, Elliana, Alex, Halina, Cristiano, Micah, and Isaac brought much joy to her life.  Cheryl absolutely loved being their grandma and would always be singing their praises.  Cheryl was the heart and soul of her family. Her home was always the center of activity.  Everyone knew they were welcome.  The house was always filled with people and far too much food that she would send home with the grandchildren.  Cheryl’s laugh was contagious and she found joy in everything.  Her generosity was evident to everyone she encountered.  The giving of her time, love, and resources characterized her life.

Stampin up was the business Cheryl began working with in order to stay home to take care of Peter.  This allowed her to use her creative talents and to spread her joy even further as well as to be successful enough in it to travel all over the world, which soon became a great delight to her.  Through the community of stampin up Cheryl developed deep friendships that were a great support for her.

Cheryl lived life to the fullest and was making plans to the very end.  Her trust in Christ gave her such peace that His ways are higher than our ways.  We are thankful that our sorrow is not without hope and that we know she is face to face with Jesus worshiping her Savior unhindered and free from the brokenness of this world.

The death of a loved one leaves a void that can not be filled. We find ourselves longing for something we can no longer have…to hear one’s laugh one more time, or to see a favorite expression on their face. But perhaps the most blessed capacity of the human mind is its ability to hold in memory those people, places, things, and events that mean the most to us. As hard as it is sometimes to deal with a loss, it’s comforting to know that one’s life is eternally richer because someone now departed was once in it. May the Lentz family and all those that knew Cheryl find comfort in knowing others care.

Cheryl was a wonderful wife to Peter, a good mother to the boys and a very special grandmother to her grandkids!

She has a gift of hospitality and a big heart, inviting me to her last two Christmases was a very special time for me..

Cheryl will be definitely missed by many! And she’s with the Lord right now!
