Cynthia (Cindy) Marie
Solchenberger

Cynthia (Cindy) Marie (nee Shore) Solchenberger, 67, born April 10th, 1954 in Yankton, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2021 at home surrounded by her husband, children and granddaughter.  Cindy graduated from Franklin High School in 1972, and then went on to the University of Minnesota to become a Veterinary Technician. Cindy dedicated her career to caring for and rescuing animals; a passion she passed on to her daughters and granddaughter.

Cindy met her husband, Dale, in 1972 after being setup on a blind date by mutual friends.  They were married November 16, 1974. They started their married life in Milwaukee, WI before settling with their daughters in Franklin, WI in late 1992.  Past times she has enjoyed over the years included basketball, volleyball, biking, card games, and gardening. Another passion of Cindy’s was art.  This included but was not limited to painting, stained glass, floral arrangements, beadmaking, cross-stitch and tatting.  She cut, shaped and welded together delicate pieces of glass to make lamps and stepping stones; she arranged flowers for weddings, decorated cakes for events, and over the years she sold many of her creations to those they brought joy to.

Cindy is survived by her husband Dale, daughters Laurie, Lisa, and granddaughter Hailey, her mother Margie Shore, her brother Larry (Christie) Shore, her in-laws Carol Jeske, Kandis (Spencer) Warner, Kathy (Doug) Parish, Kenny (Debbie) Eckelberg, Kris (Brenda) Eckelberg, Karina (Kip) Noll, Kelly Eckelberg and many additional extended family members and friends. She was predeceased in death by her father Donald Shore, mother and father-law Dorothy and Raymond Eckelberg, and in-laws Brenda Miller, Wanda Solchenberger, Allen (Patty) Solchenberger and Helen (Tex) Ritter.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held for close family and friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to Lucky Mutts Rescue in Cindy’s name. The family has volunteered, adopted, and fostered with the group for several years.
