David and Joan were longtime and active members at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.  David was baptized there on November 5th, 1933.  Joan, also a devout Christian, joined Christ church later in life, where they met in the church choir.  David and Joan were married at Christ church on December 20th, 1958, and have been active members there ever since.  A strong belief in love, faith, and family were the cornerstone of their Christ-centered lives.

David served in the United States Army from 1955 to December 1957, and was in the Army Reserves until 1961.  He never missed a day of work at Lakeside Manufacturing.  David was also the president of the Mitchell Park Domes Fourth of July Committee for more than 40 years.  He was a talented woodworker, and made many cabinets and other items to support his family.

Joan was a fulltime homemaker for their five children.  Later in life, she spent a lot of time babysitting for her grandchildren, and even some neighborhood kids.  She was very proud of their grandkids.  Joan was an excellent bowler. David proudly displayed all of the awards she received for bowling over 200.

David and Joan loved their children immensely.  They’d spend countless hours having fun, even transforming the backyard into an ice rink during the winter months.

There are many wonderful, amazing stories to be told about all of the experiences with David and Joan throughout the various generations.  When you happen to visit with one of their family members or friends…….just ask.  You will find yourself smiling at those wonderful times wishing you could have lived through them and with them like we did.   We will all get that chance again…..when we all meet together in heaven. Singing in the heavenly choir WITH them and all who believe.  See you soon…….

I was fortunate to have known Joan and David as I was on a bowling league with Joan for a number of years. I always found both of them to be very caring and so nice and friendly to all. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and hope that your precious memories will help you through this very difficult time.

Dear Yets family. Sorry I could not make it to say goodbye to your parents. I knew them from being Mark and Sheri’s family and from marching with the church on the 4th of July. I hope you will be okay and keep the memories in your hearts.
