Cooper

Debra Ann Cooper (nee Puzach) of Franklin, WI died unexpectedly Friday June 3rd due to heart and respiratory complications. She was surrounded by family and loved ones in her final moments. She was 69 years old.

Debi was born May 21, 1953 to Elizabeth and Adolph Puzach in New Berlin, Wisconsin. She was a retiree of Delco Electronics, which is where she met Richard Adkins, the father of her two children, in the late 80s. Debi and Richard built a house together and raised their kids in Oak Creek.

Debi was a familiar face around the city of Oak Creek. She was a member of the Lionettes, and she dedicated many years of various volunteering at Oak Creek Schools. She often assisted with chaperoning, field trips, and was a troop leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Debi will be remembered and cherished as a selfless and devoted mother. She was incredibly proud of her children, Jessica Adkins, Phd, Jason Adkins, DO, as well as her future daughter-in-law, Kayla Leibl, MD. Their accomplishments would not have been possible without Debi’s patience and willingness to provide access-without-hesitation to any resources she could to develop their interests and education.

Friends of Debi will undoubtedly remember her as a lover of all animals. In her younger years, Debi was well known for lovingly owning six large dogs. Over her life she opened her house to many other animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and various reptiles. Many will remember Debi for her two parrots, Rocky and Captain, who could often be seen with her around town.

Debi was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Elizabeth. She is survived by her children Jason (Kayla) Adkins and Jessica Adkins; her brother Dennis (Pam); her nephew Corey (Tina) and niece Krissy (Charlie); and her caring friends, including Richard Adkins, Jim Scheiddeger, and Rhonda Iwinwski.

What a loss ! It doesn’t seem possible that Debi is no longer with us. So many unfinished conversations. Debi was a trusted friend ever since we met so long ago. I will miss her deeply. With prayers of love and support for us all. Jim

    Jason,

Though we did not get to know your mom, we understand your loss and send our prayers. She sounds like an OC gem. You’re like a son to us and want you to know we’re here should the need arise. Keep memories of mom alive and she will be near, her presence will surprise you when you least expect.. Hugs dear one.
