Delores Lewandowski nee Newman of Caledonia, WI.
Delores Lewandowski age 72 passed away peacefully after a long illness of cancer at St. Mary?s Medical Center with her family at her side.
She was born in Harvard, Illinois on November 24, 1931 to Max and Myrtle nee Hannon Newman. Delores was united in marriage to George Lewandowski on September 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2001. On September 9 of 2000, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Delores was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia. She worked at Rudy?s North in Franksville for 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Edward Strommen of Franksville and son, Richard Terrie Lewandowski of Racine; two special grandsons, Eddy Lori Keyes and Al Strommen of Franksville; one sister, Dorothy Ronnie Wagner; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Joe and Ursula Lewandowski, Marie Lewandowski, Laddie and Evelyn Vavera, Frank and Evelyn Kowalkowski, Ralph and Marilyn Lewandowski, Gilbert and Audrey Hagemann and Robert Jelinek; many special nieces and nephews and many special friends.
She enjoyed watching her grandsons play baseball and football. Sick or not, she was always there.
She was preceded in death by husband George, her parents, her in-laws, one brother James Newman, two sister-in-laws Bernice Jelinek, Florence Gruenwald, three brother-in-laws Jake and Martin Lewandowski and Arnold Gruenwald and one niece Debbie Dysland.
Funeral Service Monday 9:15 AM from the funeral home to ST. LOUIS CHURCH, 13207 Cty Trk G in Caledonia, for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Louis Church Cemetery. In state Sunday at the Funeral Home from 4-8 PM with a 7 PM parish vigil service and Monday morning from 8:30 AM.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to two very special doctors, Dr. Michael Mullane and staff, and Dr. James Simonds and staff, Special RN and friend Kathy Fugate, and all the special nurses and staff on 2D at St. Mary?s Medical Center for their wonderful care and compassion given to Delores.
