Dennis C. Tiskewicz
Dennis Tiskewicz was born March 3rd, 1931, and left this world for the next December 12th, 2024 at the age of 83 following a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind Marlowe (Penny), the love of his life and best friend in all the shenanigans of 54 years, along with his beloved son Marc.
As the youngest of four children and only son of the late Marianna (Marie) and Clement Tiskewicz, he survived three older sisters: Romaine (Taube), Laverne (Swick), but was especially close to Geri (Peliska). Nine years his senior, Geri would devote her time to nurturing his playful nature and trying to keep him out of trouble. She said the service would be good for him. And so it was. Dennis proudly served in the United States Air Force stationed in Hawaii. Over the years he worked at Heil Corporation, did expediting for friends in the building trade, and went on to be the Director of Engineering for Havenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation where his mother Marie was named Prom Queen as a resident there one year. Dennis inherited her sass.
Always quick with a joke, smile or quip, Dennis made a life filled with joy, hard work, family and friends plus a willingness to help wherever help was needed. He quickly earned favorite uncle status with his youthful exuberance, willingness to chase wayward parakeets, dancing with young nieces on his feet and teaching the art of casting a fishhook. His buddy Jim Scasny can tell tales of fishing adventures and mishaps while his hunting buddies Dave, Danny, and Kelly might be able to up the ante. Beach vacations with Penny throughout Mexico and the Caribbean created happy memories stoked by love and always a lot of laughter with new friends. On any given day in recent years Mr. Fix-it could be found putzing in the gardens, playing with one of his dogs (or Marcs) or making enormous batches of soup with Penny. He taught those who loved him to find laughter in the small things.
So, cheers to a raucous game of 31 going on in Heaven with Dennis and the rest of the reunited Tiskewicz clan – and all the dogs he raised over the years. Listen for his laughter in the breeze on a warm summer day and pet a dog when you have a chance. Dennis will be just around the bend, just out of sight.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28th at 10am with services to follow at 11:30am.
Bring a memory, a smile, and a chuckle to share.
Dennis will be interred in the columbarium at Hales Corners Lutheran Church.
Penny, I am so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. You were lucky to have him all these years and I hope you will find peace in your life.
