Donna P. Maringer

Died peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – Franklin Campus. She was born Donna Marie Piuser on September 8, 1932, to C. Douglas Piuser and Mary Louise (nee Shuler) in Blue Earth, MN. She grew up in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1950. Immediately after high school she worked for the State of Minnesota in both Faribault and Owatonna. In 1951 she took a job with the justice department, requiring her to move to Washington DC. There she met the love of her life, Richard “Rich” Maringer while attending a St. Patrick’s Day dance sponsored by the Navy. They were married on June 8, 1954 in Blue Earth at the Methodist Church. They continued to live in Washington DC until Rich’s discharge from the Navy. They settled first in La Crosse, WI then in Madison, and finally to the Milwaukee area, where Donna began a career in the Credit Union Industry.  In 1975, Donna became President of Lakeside Credit Union in Oak Creek before retiring in 1987. Rich and Donna loved to garden and can their own foods. She was an avid baker and a great cook. For many years they traveled weekends to their cabin up north and upon Rich’s retirement spent winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, eventually moving there year-round. Several years ago, they moved back to Wisconsin as they found they were needing more family around them. Donna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She and Rich enjoyed playing cards with their friends and she spent a lot of time researching family ancestry. Donna mostly enjoyed being around her family and many wonderful friends.

Donna is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard C., her children, Lynn (Russell) Roelke, Julie (Jim) Rakowiecki, Richard J. (Marina) Maringer, and her sister Pat Ray. She also loved Nancy Martinho (Joe Barborich) and Dan Roberts as her own. Further survived by her grandchildren, Tom (Adrianne) Schmidt, Tony (Kathleen) Maringer, Anne Roelke, Andy (Alyssa) Roberts, Chris Maringer, Joe (Megan) Roberts, Melissa (Connor) LeDoux, Shawn Maringer, eight great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and many, many great friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Maringer, granddaughter Breanna Roberts, sister Phyllis Nesler, and brother Douglas Piuser.
