Passed away at home on February 12, 2023 at the age of 16 due to complications of blood clots related to a genetic disorder. Loving son of Nicole (nee Martain) and Andrew Pelton and Jamin Haasch. Adored grandson of Scot and Cindy Martain, Dawn Auterman, Lori and Richard Backman and Steve and Linda Pelton. Great-Grandson to Betty McConnell and the late Jean Sobon. Fun-loving nephew to Nathan Martain, Jordan Haasch and Scott and Ashley Pelton. Also survived by many cousins, family and friends.
Donovan was deeply loved and brought immense joy to all that knew him. He was a kind, loving, funny and creative person with so much to give to the world.
The family would like to thank the Franklin Police and Fire Departments for their quick action, efforts and compassion.

Loved spending time with Donovan, bowling going to miscellaneous activities. Such as Gurnie Mills seeing Donovan on bumper cars, jumping games. Basketball that he tried.
Donovan will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace grandson
We are very sorry to hear of your loss. Donovan was always a fun young man when he would spend time at our house. May he be at peace.
Donovan was a big impact on me during transition of the first 2 years of my high school experience. he always knew how to make me smile even if i was having a hard time or having a bad day. Throughout middle school I struggled with getting bullied, having true friendships and being accepted for who i am. Donovan, and our friend group at school made me feel appreciated and accepted for the person I am and made me experience what it’s like to have true real friends. The kinda friends that make you laugh until your stomach hurts and a shoulder to cry on if you need it. He always brought nothing but happiness and joy to anyone that was around him. I will never forget him and his amazing since of humor. I hope that he is in a better place now, mornings at school will never feel the same without him there and i’ll never forget donovan saying hi to me everyday in the mornings. the little things mean a lot, and i’ve learned that life is to short to not pay close attention to those little things in life.
Hello, my name is Abbi from Franklin High School, were including a tribute page for Donovan in this yearbook with his parents permission of course. I was just wondering if I could include your time and description of Donovan under pictures of him to help commemorate his life. Let us know if this is okay, we wouldn’t want to do anything without checking with you or his parents first. Again my deep and udder condolences for your loss and everyone who knew Donovan their loss as well.
I first met Donovan during summer school as I was the summer school secretary. He was always polite and enjoyed being with his friends. I later supported a student in a gym class he was in and boy was he funny! As a class they played multiple sports and Donovan was always excited to participate in class. He had a competitive spirit as well even if it was just for fun. He will be greatly missed here at FHS. I give my prayers to Donovan’s family during this time.
I am so very sorry for your loss
I didn’t know Donovan but it seems he made a beautiful loving impact while he was here. He was an angel on earth and now in heaven. God bless your family.
So sorry for your loss.
I remember the first time I met Donovan at a party at his grandparents’ (Cindy and Scot Martain) house. He was about three years and really close to his mom, Nicole, my husband’s niece. Tom and I were there with our youngest grandchildren. Both Kristian and Anna were shy with so many other children they had never met before, as was Donovan, but after awhile they began to play some
group games (hide and seek?). Donovan was among the youngest in the group and tried hard to follow as they ran around. He wanted so hard to play with them, but his little legs just couldn’t keep up. He gave it his best. I didn’t know him as a teen but, even at the age of three I could see what a tender-hearted, caring child he was, and certainly seems to have grown into. My deepest
condolences to his extended family and his good friends, whose writings above confirm what I saw in him all those years ago. I know that he was deeply loved and made a real difference to many in his short life. Great-Aunt Jean Dexter Sobon
