Doris J. Holley

Holley, Doris J. Nee De Smet Born into Eternal Life on August 19, 2008. She was born July 13, 1930, the daughter of Cornelius and Helen De Smet. Loving wife and best friend of Jim for 55 years. She loved gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Loving Mother of Gary Michele and kids; Monica, Derek, Rachel, and Trevor, Glenn Wendy and kids; Rebecca and Nathan, Kathy and kids; Joshua, Kelsey, and Kylie; and Jeff Terri and kids; Stephanie, Matthew, Drew, Austin, Sarah and Sydney. Dear Sister of Richard Barbe De Smet. Further survived by in laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Prior to marriage, Doris spent several years working with a federal agency in Washington D.C. When her kids were mostly grown, Doris became a medical transcriptionist at Lakeview Hospital, where she worked for 26 years before her retirement in 1997. She was a very spiritual woman, and enjoyed her deep affiliation with St. Mary’s Church in Hales Corners. Her wonderful personal qualities were almost too many to mention, but included the following – patience, courage, a strong will and an elegant grace. Her loved ones will miss her greatly. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., at 10AM. Please meet at church A visitation will be held on Sunday at the Funeral Home from 3-6 PM.
