March 15, 1915 – May 20, 2013
Doris Lenore Gustafson entered God’s loving arms peacefully at Ruth’s Hospice May 20, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born March 5, 1915 in Rice Lake, WI. Her parents were Emanuel and Edith Houlder. She was proceeded in death by her husband Wilfred after 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her step-sister Alliema, her niece Patricia Swanson, and her cousin Jewell Burke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Doris was a certified Managing Cosmetologist for over 20 years. She enjoyed singing, writing stories and poetry. She sang with the Chorus at Wilson Park and attended Unity Church. She also loved her politics and sharing with others.
Thanks to her dear friends, Naomi and Ken Stein and Maggie and Dave Baudry. Appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers that attended to Doris during her illness. She will be sadly missed by her neighbors and friends.
Special thanks to the entire staff at Close to Home and Ruth’s Hospice. Memorials may be made to Interfaith of Wauwatosa or VITAS Ruth’s Hospice.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28 from 12:00 -1:00 with the service following at 1:00 at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W Capitol Drive. Entombment will immediately follow the service. Services will be conducted by Dave Baudry. Funeral arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home.
