Dr. Gene S. Schulak, DDS

Gene passed into Eternal Life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at age 96.  He was the loving son of the late Stephen and Mary Schulak and the dear brother and best friend of the late Marion Krysiek. He is survived by his nephews James (Bette Jo) Krysiek and David (Amy) Krysiek, his niece Susan (Timothy) Rick, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Gene joined the U.S. Army upon graduation from high school and honorably served in the Pacific Theater immediately after the close of World War II.  Following his service, Gene graduated from Marquette University and Marquette University School of Dentistry.  After earning his DDS, Gene opened a dental office in West Allis, WI, where he successfully practiced for many years.

A devout, lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church, Gene was extraordinarily humble, gracious, and kind to all he met.  His niece and nephews, as well as their children, will always cherish Gene’s keen humor, comical stories, and sense of fun.  An avid investor and passionate follower of events on Wall Street, Gene also loved to take long hikes, listen to classical music, solve difficult crossword and Cryptoquip puzzles, and bake truly magnificent apple strudels and hickory nut tortes.

Special thanks to Sue, Tim, and Mandy for the loving care they provided to Gene as he grew older, and heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Hales Corners Care Center for their devoted care of Gene during his extended stay there.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 10:00AM until the time of Mass at 11:00AM at ST. AUGUSTINE CATHOLIC CHURCH (6762 W. Rogers St., West Allis, WI).  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee.
