January 4, 1928-April 30, 2015. Beloved wife of Sylvester for 65 years. Sister-in-law of Jerome Warkoczewski. Loving mother of Amy (Gene) Frankowski of Mukwonago, WI; Linda Jones of San Diego, CA; Tom (Carol) Warkoczewski of San Antonio, TX; and son-in-law Tom Noble of Taos, NM. Doting grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of seven. Adoring aunt of her nieces and nephews. Edie was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Wiilliam Ramthun, her three sisters, Evelyn Newkirk, Carol Roessger, and Jean Blake, her in-laws, Sylvester and Mary Warkoczewski, her daughter Kathleen, and her grandsons David Frankowski and Jerry Slay.
Edie was a graduate of South Division High School and Milwaukee State Teachers’ College. Although she left the classroom to raise her family, she never stopped teaching. She was a devoted wife and mother and a generous, caring friend. Edie loved music, playing both the flute and the piano, as well as being an accomplished singer. She was a talented crafter and seamstress and produced many beautiful things for her family. Edie enjoyed entertaining and passed on her love of good cooking and hospitality to all of her children. Edie and Syl enjoyed travelling around the country, especially to the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming each summer. Edie lived her life with imagination and energy, always including others in her many worthwhile endeavors. She was a devout Christian and practiced her faith in every aspect of her life.
Please join us for visitation on Monday, May 11 from 2PM-4PM at the FUNERAL HOME, service to follow at 4PM. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Angels Grace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants’ Way, Oconomowoc, WI. 53066.
