(nee Cox) Racine – Edna Leona “Lee” Bascom, 93, found peace on December 7, 2016, at Lakeshore Manor in Racine, WI.

She was born March 10, 1923 to Chester and Ethel (nee Davis) Cox in Lubbock, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Bascom.

Loving mother of Ronald, Karen (Tom) Sheski, Cynthia (Hilton) Ritter, Richard (Pam), Judy (Greg) Trice, and Robert (Jackie). Dear grandmother of Monte (Kathy), Maria (Sam), Jennifer, John (Alishia) and Richard Sheski, Jessica (David) Yankus, Stefani (Chris) Vail, Kaitlyn (Steve) Presser, Rachel, Savanna and Kyle. Great-grandmother of Emma and Maria, Davis Sheski and Damien Vail with two more on the way. Step-grandchildren include Thorin (Terri) with Talia and Titan, Tyler, Timber, Nick, Jennifer, Eric and Rachel. She is further survived by her loving sisters, Ruby Nell Grogan and Mary Lou (Howard) Kelso, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a homemaker who loved to read, watch movies, and play cards. She will be remembered for cooking her spaghetti and baking bread and desserts for her family as well as her passion for her grandchildren.

As she requested, a private memorial service will be held. Memorials to your favorite charity are suggested. The family would like to extend their thanks to the kind staff at Lakeshore Manor and Hospice Alliance who cared for her, especially nurse Jackie.
