Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 14, 2009 at age 85. Loving husband of Lois nee Young. Treasured father of Barb Bob Monnat, Michael, and Tom Katye Sanicki. Cherished grandpa of Sammy and Charlie Monnat, and Lauren, Ryan, Steven and Danny Sanicki. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation Tuesday Nov. 17th from 5-7 PM at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, S. 58th and W. Forest Home Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 PM. Private interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Ed was born January 1, 1924 in Niagara, WI. He served in the 8th Air Force 2nd Air Division of the United States Army Air Corps in World War II from 1944-1945. He piloted a B-24 Liberator bomber, flew 34 combat missions and received six combat medals. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Commerce in June, 1949, worked at Catholic Knights Insurance and retired as Vice-President of Claims and Underwriting after 33 years.
Ed loved golfing and was a member of the Whitnall Park Senior Golf League. He enjoyed coffee and conversation most mornings with his friends at McDonalds. Above all, Ed was completely devoted to his family. He was truly loved and appreciated for all he did and will be deeply missed.
