Elisa Romero Irizarri
Born to Eternal Life July 28, 2023, age 75. Beloved mother of Migdalia Ervin and Noemi Boyd. Loving partner and best friend of Mike Schwab. Cherished grandmother of Raymond Hill, Joshua (Tanya) Ervin, Jasmine Ervin and Isaiah Boyd. Proud great-grandmother of Jeremiah, Arianna, Joshua, Gigi, Justin, Jacob and Ava. Fond sister of Hilda (Hector) Deida. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good and dear friends.
Anyone that knew Elisa was getting a lesson on love. Everyone in the room got a hug when she entered and when she left. Elisa loved everyone, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always singing and dancing to her Latin music. You would be hard pressed to see Elisa in person or in a photo without a beautiful smile.
In the late 60s Elisa was very active in helping minorities get access to education in the Wisconsin University system.
Elisa worked for several government agencies, IRS, state and county. She liked IRS the least which is completely inline with her love for people. Elisa worked for Wisconsin Memorial after leaving the IRS. Elisa worked for the county for 21 years and was promoted to Assistant to the Director of Human Services. Elisa was appointed by Tommy Thompson to serve on the governor’s Commission on Children and Family Issues. Elisa also supported the Hispanic community serving on the Council on Hispanic Affairs and Hispanic Resources Group. Later after retiring she worked for Homestead Realty and was dubbed by Mike as the Mother Theresa of Real Estate.
Elisa loved you and everyone she met . . . especially babies. I remember a time when she ran into a young lady that was crying at Andy Silky’s restaurant and gave the young lady her earrings. And that wasn’t the first time. Elisa was an angel and I think God wants her back to train other angels.
It was truly an honor to have her in my life.
