To the wonderful La Croix family,
You are all in so many of my childhood memories. Listening to the Neil Diamond album, singing and dancing in your living room, going down the alley with the wagon collecting treasures, your dad taking Amy to ER while mom had Mike, or watching our parents play cards. Your mom is a special woman, the best cook, who’s smile is unmatched. I’m sending you all hugs kisses and love.

LaCroix family, So very sorry for the sudden loss of Bette. Amazing woman in so many ways. Her culinary skills brought me to nominate her to the BEST COOK ON THE BLOCK back in the 80’s. . She was ,of course, chosen to be published along w a few of her delicious recipes. Back then we were joined at the hip. I have many wonderful memories of Bette which I cherish now and always will. Forever in my heart. Rest In Peace my friend.

To Ron and his dear family my deepest heartfelt condolences. Bette was truly a special person and a treasure to our neighborhood gang. It was a blessing to be a part of this neighborhood and raise our families together. Of course her cooking was the “best on the block” but it was her kind heart and beautiful smile that will remain in my heart. The memories we shared as a neighborhood , will always bring a smile to my face. God be with you all. RIP my treasured friend. 💔

Elizabeth, my sister in law, was a remarkable woman in so many ways. She loved her family passionately, raising four individually unique and spectacular daughters and loving each and every one of her grandchildren. Elizabeth did countless acts of quiet kindness, showing a rare kind of selflessness. One of those kindnesses was in suppling her mother with readymade dinners for Bernadines toaster oven. Bernadines freezer was always stocked with Bette ready meals. This allowed Bernadine to stay in her home. Bette was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife and mother. Elizabeth’s light will shine forth from all the people she touched in her remarkable life.

Oh Betty, I love you and already miss you. We had so many wonderful gatherings with your family that I remember so well. Our outings with just the two of us were my favorite though. Boy could we laugh. You raised a large family and made it look easy. How beautiful and loving they are shows how much they all take after you. My heart goes out to Ron right now as I know he has lost his other half. He is a good man who loved and cherished you. My prayers to your girls and Ron now for healing. Love you all, Monica.

To Ron and family , a heartfelt thoughts and prayers at this time of loss. Ms Bette was a wonderful nursing supervisor who kept us “ducks” in a row for many a year. She was also a good friend whom I had the benefit granted of driving the “Miss Daisy’s” to various outings and returning back to her home for a baked treat and liquid libations! God Bless Mary Ann an Ansis

I have so many fun memories of Bette from “Kissin’ Cuzins” picnics. All my memories are of laughter and fun. She was always a favorite of my Mother and Father. The Chicago Hogans want the family to know how much she made our Wisconsin vacations the best. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time.
