Estelle will be missed by seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many family friends.
Estelle grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and enjoyed singing in church, and even sang on the radio with her brother and sisters as a child. She enjoyed doing many crafts and was an avid reader. She was a fan of the Packers and the Brewers.
After graduating from High School in Wisconsin Rapids, she went on to graduate from Wood County Normal School Class of 1951 with a teaching Diploma. She began teaching grade school. She married Clyde Czubin on July 5th 1952, and suspended her teaching career when her children were born. When they entered school Estelle became a substitute grade school teacher in Oak Creek. She finished her career as a library assistant at the Oak Creek Library.
In 1966, she with husband Clyde, sister Irene, and brother-in-law Sheldon “Gus” Shaurette bought an abandoned farm seven miles north of Wisconsin Dells. After many weekends and many hours of work, they succeeded in converting the old farm into “The Farmer in the Dells,” a campground with an arts and craft shop in the renovated barn. They displayed and sold many arts and crafts from themselves and other Wisconsin artists and crafting people. “The Farm” also became the center for many family gatherings for 12 years until they sold it to pursue other interests.
Clyde and Estelle were then free to engage in one of their passions which was travelling the U.S. on many vacations, including trips to Hawaii and an Alaskan Cruise for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde, son Gary Czubin, grandson Christopher Czubin, brother Irvin “Bud” Smith, and sisters Irene Shaurette and Ruth Collins.
