Gene was born in Ringle, Wisconsin on Feburary 8, 1934 to Anton and Anna (nee Nazda) Gureski. After graduating 8th Grade, he felt life was the best school for him to learn from. After working on the farm, he spent time working at the local lumber yards in Northern Wisconsin and then headed out West to Wyoming working again in lumber, which was a family passion. He was selected to join the Army in 1952 at the age of 18, and became a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, based out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. When his tour was complete, he relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to start his career in construction. He was proud to be a member of the Local 139 Union, retiring from D.F. Tomasini in the 1990s. He was recently awarded his 60 year pin from the Union having been a dedicated member for as many years. He was passionate about life and enjoyed helping others, and could fix anything. He was an Outdoorsman who truly loved hunting and fishing; and spent years traveling back to his beloved Northern Wisconsin.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Homes, 4800 S. 84th St., Greenfield, WI 53228; visitation from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with service to follow.
I, loved to walk across the street just to visit with Eugene, the times I spent with him, were always enjoyable, he was a great guy! Whenever I disappeared from my yard, my wife would
always know where to find me!
Eugene will always be missed, and I will miss our talks together.
Our Sympathy to Eugene’s family. May God Bless each of you.
