Eugene George
Price
One of Jesus’ little lambs,
Eugene George Price of Franklin was born in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 11, 1928 to William and Hedwig (Hattie) Price. Gene was baptized and publicly confessed his saving faith in Jesus Christ, his Savior, through the rite of Confirmation on May 8, 1960. On August 6, 1960, Gene was united in marriage to Doris (nee Kind) Price. The Lord blessed Gene and Doris with two children, Kathleen Price and Thomas Price. After living most of his life in the Milwaukee area, Gene spent the last 3-1/2 years in the Wausau area near his son’s family. Gene was called to his home of eternal glory by His heavenly Father on September 7, 2017 at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 27 days.
Gene was an extremely hard worker and showed a caring heart to anyone in need. He served his country as a member of the 196th Infantry unit of the US Army from 1951-1952 and was stationed outside Anchorage, Alaska protecting the US territory during the Korean War. He was privileged to have taken the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. with his son in November 2013. He worked for Bucyrus Erie (now Caterpillar) in South Milwaukee, WI as a crane assembler. He also served on the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department as a Captain and EMT Training officer. He served on several board positions and as an usher for many years as a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Creek, WI. He loved being outside in his garden, flower beds or caring for his yard. He loved woodworking, baking cookies and telling stories (many times more than once or twice). He was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, and all of their accomplishments.
Gene is survived by two sisters, Esther Holtz of Cudahy, WI, Lois Kaiser and her husband, Joseph (Wayne) Kaiser of Milton, WI, and one brother, David Price and his wife, Mary, of Bloomington, WI. He is also survived by his two children, Kathleen Price of Franklin, WI, and Thomas Price and his wife, Debra, of Weston, WI, and their two children, Jacob and Maya Price. Gene is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and many very dear friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hattie (nee Jacoby) Price; by his brothers, Harold and Thomas Price; by his wife, Doris (nee Kind) Price; and two grandchildren, Matthew Price and Jaden Price.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m on Monday, September 11, at St. John Lutheran Church, 10302 S. 27th St., Oak Creek, WI. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 on Sunday, September 10 at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th St. and again from 9:00 until the time of services at the church. After the funeral service, there will be a brief committal service at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek, WI.
The Price family thanks you for sharing this day of sadness and faith with them. May God bless each of you with the true Christian hope which leads to a joyful expectation of the resurrection to eternal life in heaven with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
