Eunice M. Murphy

Of Wauwatosa passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2011; age 83 years. She was born on April 20, 1928 in Friesland, WI the daughter of Gilbert and Edna Vredeveld. Eunice moved to the Milwaukee area as a young woman and worked for many years at Millprint. She had many hobbies and interests and was engaged in life to the fullest. On November 28, 1970, she was united in marriage to George Murphy. She was a devoted member of Old St. Mary’s Church for over 30 years and in that time she served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and, for 20 years, was the Treasurer of the Church’s St. Anne’s Society.

In addition to her husband, who died in 1988, she was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Delbert and Catherine Murphy; and her sister, Margie Braaksma. Eunice is survived by a brother-in-law, Alfred (Patricia) Braaksma of Loudon, TN; nephews: Bruce (Jean) Braaksma of Friesland, WI and Douglas (Mary) Braaksma of Miami, FL; nieces: Gayle (Thomas) Krueger of Rio, WI and Rebecca (Ronald) Deering of Mattawan, MI; several great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation Fri., Aug. 5, 2011 at Old St. Mary’s Church, 836 N. Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202 from 8:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Old St. Mary’s Church are appreciated.
