Boehmer, Frances Elizabeth
September 6, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Frances was born May 16, 1919 to Charles and Anna (Banworth) Heer, the youngest of 6 children. She was raised and educated in the Douglas, ND area.
Frances married Herman Boehmer of Devils Lake on June 25, 1947 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Douglas. They lived in Douglas where they owned and operated Boehmer General Store for almost 40 years and Corner Bar for 11 years. Frances was active in the Community Club, Alter Society and Senior Center while in Douglas. They retired in the fall of 1982 and moved to Minot. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. Herman passed away in 2000. In 2008 she moved to the Milwaukee area to be close to her children and grandchildren. She resided at Layton Terrace, in the assisted living area and in 2012 she moved to Lindengrove Nursing Home where she was residing.
Frances enjoyed sewing, crafting, RV trips to Colorado and frequent Amtrack trips to see family around the country.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, her parents, brothers Herman, Lawrence, Art, and Am, and her sister Mary Kaufman. She is survived by her children Paul and Barbara Madsen, Milwaukee, Bruce Boehmer, Indianapolis, grandchildren Robert Parge, Minneapolis, Brandee and Brian Merkley, Seattle, Sara Madsen, Detroit, Brad Boehmer, Chicago, Mande and Darian Miskewyck, Bloomington, IN, great-grandchildren Brandon Maki, Justin Maki, Ciara Kessel and Camdyn Miskewyck.
Services will be held in Minot, ND under the direction of Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.
