Passed on August 13, 2009, surrounded by his family at the age of 85 yrs. Preceded in death by his wife Mildred nee Maass. Loving father of Carrie Richard Brunk, Frank Jr. Cheryl, and Jeff Betsy. Beloved grandpa of Jason Mayda, Troy Dawn, Jason, Emily, Maddie, and Megan. Great-grandpa of Mychaela, Cassidy, Cooper, and Camille. Brother of Carl Jackie and the late Joe, John, Tony, Paul, and Mary. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, from 4-8 PM, and on Tuesday, at St. Matthew’s Church 9303 S. Chicago Rd., from 9-10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, at St. Matthew’s Church, at 10 AM. Interment at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Graduate of South Milwaukee High School. After his service in World War II he became well known for owning and operating Frank Baranek Foods in Carrollville until the late 1970’s. He was a 4th district alderman and a member of the police and fire commission during the early days of Oak Creek. Before retiring he worked for 10 years at McGraw Edison-Kyle. Frank especially enjoyed golfing, fishing, and tackling a difficult project with a friend.
