Gary John Conrad

Conrad, Gary J. May 2, 1943 –January 17, 2018

Passed away in his home January 17th at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of Alvera (Nee Struck), loving father of Elizabeth Conrad, Joseph (Jean) Conrad, and stepfather of Mike (Diane) Struck. Dear brother to James (Beverly) Conrad and Nancy (Linus) Sheridan. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gary graduated from Milwaukee South Division High School class of 1961. Gary proudly served during the Vietnam War with the Army Corp of Engineers in 1967-1968. Gary gave 40 years of service as an employee of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, retiring in 2000. During the early 1990s Gary was the vice president of the local chapter of the Teamsters union. In his younger days, Gary was an avid player in multiple bowling, darts, cribbage and softball leagues.

Memorial visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home (4800 S. 84th Street) Saturday, January 27th 10AM-1PM, with a brief service to follow. A celebration of Gary’s life is also being held for friends and loved ones on Monday, January 29th 4PM -7PM at Hanke’s Tavern (6101 W. Lincoln Avenue).
