May 20, 2012 age 86 yrs. Beloved husband of the late Patricia “Momsie.” Son of the late Stanley and Caroline. Younger brother of John Mina Placek and the late Genevieve Placek. Loving and devoted father of Kathleen Charles Kranich, the late Jacqueline Carl Gamboeck, Joanne Gary Koch, Carol Brian Higgins, Craig Cecilia Rose, and Steven Laurie Placek. Dear grandfather of Kelly Lamar Seabrooks, Kevin Sally Saskowski, Shelley Brad DeMark, Kenneth Teresa Kranich, the late Michael Kruczkowski, Kurt Kathryn Kranich, Steve Koch, Jason Jessi Rose, Katie Ryan Koncki, Taylor and Mitchell Placek, Amanda and Alex Rose. Great-grandfather of Cassandra, Ariel, Katlin, Ethan, Sean, Jacob, Marian, Evan, Jack, Rachel, Brayden, Sophie, Nolan, Molly, Emily, Mason, Cayson, Audrey, Aiden, Lilli and Kennedi. Further survived by the Pfallers – his ‘adopted’ family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation Thurs. May 24th, 3-6pm with funeral services at 6pm at the funeral home. Private interment So. Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery.

George served in United States Marine Corp during WWII and was a retiree of the Ladish Co. A special thank-you to the staff at Midwest Dialysis and the Aurora VNA Home Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
