Called home to be with his Lord on October 20th, 2013 at the age of 83. Treasured husband of Marlene (Nee Rupple) for 61 years. Loving dad of Pam (Randy) Halter, Cheri (Jim) Schultz, and Dave (Dawn) Kalb. Grandpa Georgie to Dawn and Beth Halter, and Connor and Shane Kalb. Preceded in death by parents Norma and George Kalb, and siblings Betty, Wally, Ruth and Helen. Brother of Dottie (Ed) Bullard, and Don (Sandy) Kalb.
Visitation on Friday October 25th at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 900 Michigan Ave. South Milwaukee, from 12PM-3PM, with funeral service to follow (3PM).
Private interment Forest Hill Memorial Park.
George was an employee of McGraw Edison – Kyle for 44 years. He was very active at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and had served as president of the congregation. George also served as an alderman for the city of South Milwaukee, and proudly served in the US Navy between 1950 and 1954. Heartfelt thanks to the Veterans Administration ALS clinic, especially Dr. Barkahaus and “my angel” Eva Manchester.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of South Milwaukee, Disabled Veterans, or the ALS foundation.
