George William Depledge

Peacefully crossed into eternal life on October 20, 2023, at the age of 87.

George was born on March 18th, 1936, to his late parents, Gilbert and Ruth (McMahon) Depledge. He was a 1954 graduate of Greendale High School and served in the US Coast Guard. He married Patricia Patenaude, and they had 3 children together before Patricia passed away in 1974 at the age of 36 from cancer. George married Gloria Marschke in 1976 who also preceded him in death in 2009 after her battle with cancer.

George was a licensed optician, serving most of his career at Eye Physicians Associates of Milwaukee, and also in Las Vegas, NV before retiring and moving back to Wisconsin. He spent the last ten years of his life as a resident at Mitchell Manor of Oak Creek, where staff and fellow residents enjoyed his dry wit and outgoing personality.

George will be missed by his many friends and family and is survived by his brother Douglas (Cathy); his three children, Mark (Sarah), Julie Depledge-Bellin, Michelle Depledge-Richards and 2 step-sons, Scott Marschke and Tom Marschke, as well as 16 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Per George’s wishes, his ashes will be placed in Pinelawn Memorial Park with the remains of family members who preceded him, and there will be no formal services.
