Gerald Laurence
Ericksen
Ericksen, Gerald L. “Jerry”
Entered the loving arms of his Lord on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 67.
Jerry was born on September 30, 1945, to Laurence (Swede) and Ruth (Lund) Ericksen of Peshtigo, WI. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Carlson, at Salem Lutheran Church in Peshtigo on August 20, 1966. He was a 1965 graduate of Marinette County Teacher’s College, 1966 graduate of Data Processing School of WI and 1972 graduate of Spencerian College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He was the proud owner and President of The Ericksen Group, Ltd. and finished his career as Vice President of Technology and Logistics at Color Arts in Racine. He served as President of the APICS Group in Milwaukee and taught evening classes at MATC and Marquette University. He laughed with his whole being and loved with his entire heart. He was a wonderful cook, an avid outdoorsman and an incredibly positive person – his glass was always half full. He loved going back home to Peshtigo, watching races with his brother, reading the comics on Sunday mornings, attending Marquette Basketball games with his baby girl and listening to the Brewers in the backyard on a nice warm day. Most of all, he treasured every single minute of the time he spent with his family.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Diane, cherished daughter and ‘son,’ Tammy and Patrick Tobiasz, loving brother, Daniel and Lucille of Marinette, brother-in-law and best friends, Ronald and Kathleen Carlson of New Berlin, brother-in-law, Richard and Addie Carlson of Bowling Green, KY, his faithful companions, Sadie and Muffin, his granddog, Bailey, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Carl and Bernice Carlson of Peshtigo.
Visitation will be held at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3700 South Casper Drive, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Friday, February 15, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am. Pastor John Gawrisch will officiate. For those wishing, memorials can be made in Jerry’s name to Star of Bethlehem or Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
“We will always, always love you. Madly.”
