Geraldine "Geri" Kay
Duran

of Greenfield WI at the age of 80 years old has entered eternal rest on Thursday April 4, 2019.

Born Geraldine Kay Boyle on January 20, 1939 in Duluth, Minnesota to Chester and Leona Boyle she was the oldest of 3 sisters. Her paternal relations lived in Ironwood, Michigan and the north woods was a beautiful part of her life as a young child in which she later shared with her children.

Geri migrated to the Milwaukee area in her early teens where she lived out the rest of her life. She had a love for the Latin community, the music and the culture and as an adult she resided in areas of Milwaukee that were mostly populated by Latinos. Although to name a few, she was of Finland and Croatian decent. She embraced the Latino culture and spoke fluent Spanish and could master any of the traditional and authentic Mexican culinary delights.

With a strong interest in creating and hands on she worked many jobs as an assembler and holds an associate degree in computer programming. Geri was a strong and independent woman, she always looked at the good and positive side of things and there was nothing she felt she couldn’t do even to the day of her untimely passing.

Geri loved her home, her pets and her immediate family which includes her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was dearly loved by them. She is survived by her children: James A. (Wanda) Duran, Debra L. (John) Movroydis, Michael F. Duran and Jessica Duran, her grandchildren: Danielle (Joey) Burton, Michael Mathieu and Erica J. Groff, her great grandchildren: Waylon, Nolan and Giovanna and her pets, who will now reside with her children: Chula(Chihuahua), Fritz(Cat) and Portia(Cat)

There is no scheduled service at this time as the family

wishes their privacy and time to grieve their loss.

On behalf of our mother we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Milwaukee Ovation Jewish Home staff and supportive staff. For approximately the past 2 months leading up to her passing our mother lived on your campus. She was cared for with love and respect and offered so many fun cogitative activities that she always looked forward to. Her last days were some of the happiest she had ever been. She made many friends. It is so comforting for our family to know how happy and safe she was and that she was here at this time.

The family wishes that in lieu of sending flowers to honor her life please issue a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society. We will in turn forward your donation in her name.

Make your check payable to:   The American Cancer Society

Mail to:  Debra Movroydis

12010 W. Locust Street

Wauwatosa, W 53222

A donation to the American Cancer Society is a thoughtful way to honor someone whose life has been impacted by cancer. Your gift can recognize milestones in a cancer survivor’s life or express the sense of loss when someone loses their battle with this disease. Once your gift is received, the Society will send a card to the honoree or family acknowledging your gift.

She was our beloved mother and most special Nana, grandma and great grandma
